About This Journey
For those who love gorges, canyons and dramatic rock scenery without the long desert drive. Day one crosses the Atlas Mountains to UNESCO Ait Ben Haddou, then continues into the famous Dades Valley with its bizarre 'Monkey Fingers' cliffs, thousand-year-old kasbahs and lush river gorges. Overnight in a beautiful kasbah-style hotel perched right above the river gorge. Day two continues to neighboring Todra Gorge — a narrow slot canyon with 300m limestone walls, considered by many the most spectacular gorge in Morocco — where you'll hike for 1–2 hours. Afternoon return through Skoura oasis palms and Ouarzazate back to Marrakech.

Hotel pickup at 08:00. Cross the High Atlas to Ait Ben Haddou for a 1h visit. Continue through Skoura's endless palm groves with a short walk. Drive the famous Road of the Thousand Kasbahs up Dades Valley, stopping at photography viewpoints including the legendary Monkey Fingers cliffs. Check into kasbah hotel late afternoon, then sunset from the terrace. Dinner and overnight.

After breakfast drive 1h to Todra Gorge where you'll spend 1.5–2 hours hiking the canyon floor on shaded, flat trails with optional wading in the cold river pools. Lunch in a local restaurant in Tinghir. Return drive via Ouarzazate and the Atlas Mountains with the afternoon light. Marrakech drop-off 19:00–20:00.
